AK Steel is a world leader in the production of flat-rolled carbon, stainless, and electrical steel products. It is a $6.5 billion company and employs over 8,000 in 12 plants across 6 states. As a major manufacturer, it is imperative that managers and employees receive uniform and timely safety training.

Solution

LeanForward developed several eLearning programs to address AK Steel’s safety training needs. Some of the programs covered general safety topics but were presented in a way that reflected AK Steel’s specific manufacturing environment and processes. Other programs were developed to address specific risks and used to replace their quarterly safety training.  AK Steel also licensed LearnPoint™ to document their eLearning initiatives.

Results
