At LeanForward, we recognize that every training initiative is unique, so no single document could possibly satisfy every organization’s needs. Our eLearning development Roadmap is a helpful tool to put your organization on the path to success. We have used the approach described in the Roadmap to develop thousands of effective eLearning programs for a wide variety of organizations.
“Our eLearning development Roadmap is a helpful tool to put your organization on the path to success.”
LeanForward’s Instructional Design model begins with the Instructional System Design (ISD) model known as ADDIE (analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate). Upon this foundation, LeanForward incorporates advanced Instructional Design and Adult Learning Theories for eLearning programs, such as:
Robert Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction
Benjamin Bloom’s Taxonomy of Educational Objectives
John Keller’s ARCS Model of Motivation
Malcolm Knowles’ Adult Learning Theory
Excerpts from the Roadmap
eLearning Gets Results
Quality eLearning provides learner-directed, learner-controlled training that allows the learner to initiate training when best suited for them. They can progress at their own pace and revisit content as needed. This is a primary reason why the Research Institute of America found that eLearning increases retention rates 25-60%, while retention rates for face-to-face training are just 8-10%.
eLearning Provides More Accessible and Flexible Training
There is no need to schedule specific training dates or times. Since it can be done when and where needed, eLearning typically requires 40-60% less training time than traditional classroom learning. This minimizes downtime and boosts productivity. Note: Saving time does not affect the quality of learning. According to a study by Brandon-Hall, it’s actually quite the opposite.
eLearning is Responsive and Consistent
Most organizations report that eLearning increases their competitive edge by helping them respond quickly to changes in their business, industry or market. eLearning also ensures that learners receive consistent instruction regardless of when or where they complete their training. This is especially important for compliance training.
Is eLearning the Right Fit?
The advantages of asynchronous eLearning really are staggering. However, eLearning is not right for every training initiative. So how do you tell if eLearning is right for a specific project? Whether you’re considering replacing a traditional instructor-led training program with eLearning or you need to develop a brand new training program, there are several questions to consider.
