FAQs
eLearning Development
What is the difference between eLearning and mobile learning?
We use the term eLearning to refer to all types of electronic based training, whether it is computer-based training (CBT), web-based training (WBT) or even mobile learning. However, when we refer to mobile learning, we are referring to eLearning that was specifically designed to run on mobile devices such as smartphones.
How much does it cost to have a custom eLearning program developed?
The cost to develop eLearning can vary widely based on the length of the program, the condition of source material, the level of multimedia and interactivity required and how involved your organization will be in the design and development process. A typical 20-30 minute long program can cost anywhere from $5000 to $20,000.
How long does it take to develop a custom eLearning program?
It typically takes 8-10 weeks to design and develop a custom eLearning program but the timeframe can vary based on the length of the program, the condition of the source materials and the responsiveness of the subject matter experts (SMEs).
Can I see some more examples of eLearning LeanForward has developed?
Yes! We will be glad to show you numerous examples of our custom eLearning programs. Check some examples out on our Client Work page, or contact us to schedule a demo.
We have created our own eLearning scripts. Can LeanForward just do the development for us?
Yes! We have several clients that create their eLearning scripts and then have us develop their programs for them.
Will the eLearning run on mobile devices?
Yes, we typically publish our clients’ eLearning to HTML5 so it will run on pretty much any mobile device. However, due to the limited screen size and functionality of smartphones, we recommend developing smartphone specific versions if a significant percentage of users will be accessing the training via their smartphones.
If LeanForward develops some eLearning for us, will we be able to edit it later on if needed?
Yes! We develop all of the eLearning programs in readily available third-party authoring tools or straight HTML5 and provide our clients with the source files so they can edit the eLearning later on if needed.
