The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has engaged LeanForward to design and develop its new NAIA Academy. The association’s first online training program includes its Champions of Character Live 5 courses for student-athletes.
The Live 5 program teaches student-athletes about the five core values reflected in the NAIA’s Champions of Character initiative; Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership. The Live 5 elearning teaches student-athletes how to apply these core values during competition as well as throughout their daily lives. The Live 5 elearning is the first of several courses to be developed to support the NAIA’s Champions of Character initiative. Additional NAIA Academy courses are planned for students as well as for NAIA coaches.
The Live 5 elearning is being designed to function on iPads as well as traditional desktops and laptops. While iPads make up a small percentage of overall elearning users, the percentage of students using iPads is significantly higher than the general population, so both NAIA and LeanForward recognized the need to accommodate iPads.
The NAIA will also be using LeanForward’s intuitive LearnPoint™ Learning Management System (LMS) to manage its elearning initiatives. LearnPoint™ will provide the NAIA with a custom branded and intuitive user interface and also empower student-athletes to self-register for the Live 5 training. The LearnPoint™ LMS will also automatically document student progress and provide the NAIA and its member schools with access to a wide range of training activity reports.
